Two Experiments on Co-located Mobile Groupware

چکیده
INTRODUCTION The Dimensional Overlap Model (D.O.) [3] and StimulusResponse Compatibility (SRC) [1,2,4] are two interrelated areas of study from experimental psychology that investigate the relationships between human response performance and the nature of the stimuli that elicits these responses. Decades of research in these areas have shown that the relationship between the stimuli and the required responses greatly affect the speed and accuracy with which users can perform simple tasks.

Seven Challenges for Developers of Mobile Groupware
Synchronous groupware applications play a major role for, e.g. shared document editing, co-operative software development or shared workspaces. Groupware applications allow geographically distributed teams to collaborate without significant time delays. Several groupware platforms have been developed to simplify the development of synchronous groupware applications and relieve the developer fro...
متن کاملAdoption and Diffusion of Groupware In Software Engineering Projects
This research is investigating the provision of such network-based support for software engineering teams, both geographically distributed at multiple sites and co-located on a single site. Initially the research has focused on identifying appropriate groupware technology and small-scale experiments to assess its suitability for software engineering related tasks. The immediate objective is to ...
متن کاملUnderstanding and Mitigating Display and Presence Disparity in Mixed Presence Groupware
Mixed Presence Groupware (MPG) supports both co-located and distributed participants working over a shared visual workspace. It does so by connecting multiple single-display groupware workspaces together through a shared data structure. Our implementation and observations of MPG systems exposes two problems: the first is display disparity, where connecting heterogeneous displays introduces issu...
متن کاملAligning Work Practices and Mobile Technologies: Groupware Design for Loosely Coupled Mobile Groups
Supporting mobile collaborative work over wide areas is challenging due to the limitations and unreliability of wide area wireless networks. However, variations in patterns of collaboration require different levels of timeliness and synchrony, and place different demands on groupware and its supporting technologies. In this paper, we argue that groupware supported by wide area mobile networks s...
متن کاملDynamic Modeling and Construction of a New Two-Wheeled Mobile Manipulator: Self-balancing and Climbing
Designing the self-balancing two-wheeled mobile robots and reducing undesired vibrations are of great importance. For this purpose, the majority of researches are focused on application of relatively complex control approaches without improving the robot structure. Therefore, in this paper we introduce a new two-wheeled mobile robot which, despite its relative simple structure, fulfills the req...
